Secret Question

What is the secret question used for?

The secret question is a way for Mailshell to verify your identity in case you forget your password or your password is not working. If you ever need to request a new password and you have a secret question, you will be asked to enter the answer to this question before your password can be reset. (Note that you must enter your answer exactly as you entered it, including any capitalization and punctuation.)

You can set up or change your secret question by clicking the "Secret Question" link on the Options page.

How do I set up or change my secret question?

To set up or change your secret question, click the "Secret Question" link on the Options page. Then:

  • Enter your password.

  • Use the menu to select the secret question you want to use.

  • Enter the answer to your secret question. (Note that, if you are asked to answer your question, you must be able to enter your answer exactly as you give it here, including any capitalization and punctuation.)

  • Click the "Save Question" button.

Please note: For security reasons, your current secret question and answer will not be displayed when you go to this page; you do not need to re-enter the information unless you want to change it. If you have forgotten or are unsure what your current question and answer are, the best option is to set up a new one.
